Low grade lymphoma and cysts on lung

Over Christmas just gone I was really ill for 6 weeks with a cold and BAD cough then in March had pain in my neck but no cold or cough just felt abit more tired than usual so I went doc who sent me for scans and blood test. came back that I had a 33x9x1.2mm lymph node and nodule on other side, Chronic lymphocytosis, high LDH, mildly raised ANA so I was referred for a CT scan and a FNA. While still waiting for FNA I had the CT scan they sed I had Lymphadenopathy, my tonsils were large, I had cysts on my lungs (possibly from smoking) and that I had low grade lymphoma.

Ive been referred to haematology and he said they will talk about what treatment would work best!

ive been referred to the pathway director of head and neck cancer for the FNA but my appointment ain’t till Oct 10..

will haematology do the FNA sooner??

Over the past 6 weeks I have been poorly first with what they sed was gallstones then while I had that I got urine infection had to take 2 courses of antibiotics i paid for a private scan to find out I had calcium in my kidneys nothing in my gallstone.. as I recovered from urine infection I caught a cold which was over 2 weeks ago I’m very much still full on bugged up I can barely walk up the road without getting a stitch or completely outbreath.. I think I might be getting a urine infection again (got docs Tomoz) I feel very weak I haven’t had a blood test in over 4 weeks could things be progressing quicker???

  • Hi Lors and welcome to Cancer Chat.

I'm sorry about your diagnosis and the length of the wait for your FNA, it must be very frustrating.

Unfortunately I can't answer your question about haematology but hopefully they can when you see them. Do be sure to discuss any worries or concerns you have with your doctor as they may be able to see if things can get done more quickly.

I hope you hear from some of our members who have been in similar situations soon but our cancer nurses are just a phone call away if you'd like to have a chat with them about this as well. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope things start to improve soon Lors.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
