Dad's results prostate cancer

So just an update in dad following his appointment yesterday.  We had our hopes dashed re the 7 suspicious areas on ribs as they were confirmed as mets.  However of the 7 - only 3 appear to be cancerous!  Because of this they are using treatment that had come about from the Stampede trial.  Dad classed as having low metastatic burden and so they are giving 6 doses if chemo - 1 every 3 weeks then this will be followed by a course of radiation to blast his prostate.  Has anyone had this treatment plesse? If so how did you find it as I'm a bit concerned about dad's age and the affect of such aggressive treatment.

    Sorry to hear about your dad's results and that these suspicious areas were confirmed as mets. It must be reassuring news though that of the 7, only 3 appear to be cancerous and that they have been classified as having low metastatic burden.

[@wolfman60]‍ mentioned a year ago on this thread that he was about to have the radium treatment and also had chemotherapy as part of the Stampede Trial so he might be a good person for you to chat to.

    Thank you.  I have looked at @wolfman60 profile but whilst he's had both chemo and radiotherapy its slightly different as the method of chemo followed quickly by  radiotherapy that dad is to have is quite new apparently and only came about at the end of last year following the Stampede trial. It's because he's classed as having low burden metastatic disease so only men recently diagnosed will have had this plan. Hopefully someone may come along.
