Carcinoid and/or carcinoma?

Hi

I’ve been diagnosed with a definite lung carcinoid, but now I’m having a CT assisted biopsy because there was a suspect area near my hip found on my PET-CT scan that the doctors think may be a carcinoma. This means the carcinoid has to wait whilst this is sorted out. I am getting cramping, stitch-like pains in my sides and occasional pain in my gut. Has anyone else had this? I’m hoping it’s something to do with the Omeprazole I’m taking for my IBS and which I’ve stopped to see if it is.

  • I noticed you hadn't had a reply yet Susie so I just thought I'd check in to see if your symptoms have improved since you stopped taking omeprazole. I hope this hasn't impacted too much on your IBS but if the pains you're having are becoming unmanageable do let your doctor or medical team know as they may be able to provide you with some pain relief.

Hopefully you'll hear from some of our members who have been in similar situations soon but if you'd like to talk things through with someone then do give our cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040. Their lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Wishing you all the best with your CT assisted biopsy Susie.

    Kind regards,
