Feeling shaky

i have just been diagnosed with Grade 3 breast cancer - operation to remove lump in 2 weeks.  I feel so shaky and trembly now.  Is this normal?  Probably the shock and realisation I suppose.  This is my first post on this forum.

  • Hope your results were favourable.  Is the treatment plan radiotherapy?  Had my op 3 days ago - went well.  No meds needed so far and I was able to have a nice shower this morning.  Get results of lymp nodes on 17 Sept.  best wishes

  • Hi Pandy

I’m glad your op went well.

My mri results said it hadn’t spread. My op is booked in for 2nd September.

  • Hi, Pandy,

I am so sorry to hear your news, It is probably delayed shock, I am 3 weeks post breast cancer surgery, and can hopefully give you some reassurance that although there is this dark cloud, there

is a light at the end of the tunnel. I did feel the same way you did, I had just turned 66 when bam it all started, I am waiting for Chemotherapy, and wish you well for your surgery, God Bless.

  • That's good news.  All the best with your op.  Other than feeling a bit shaky everything is fine.  No pain - just a little discomfort under my arm, so don't worry.  Just the lymph node results on 17 Sept followed by radiotherapy to ensure it doesn't come back hopefully.

Will be thinking of you on 2 Sept.

  • Thank you for sharing - it does help.  Yes, I think the shakiness is delayed reaction/shock.  I am 75 and never had an op before so it all came out of the blue!

I hope your recovery is going well.  I have no pain, just a slight discomfort under my armpit from the sentinel node biopsy.

    All the best.

  • Thinking of you on the 17th.

Im moving and not sure how long I’ll be without internet Hx

  • Results after my lumpectomy a month ago.  Stage 1 and tumour completely gone now.  Lymph nodes clear too.   What a relief.  Having sample of tumour sent to America to see if what score I have and whether chemo would be beneficial.  If low score just radiotherapy and hormone tablets.  Am positive all is well.

  • Hi, I am so glad you are so positive, and by the looks of things, getting better, I am sending you a big hug, xx.

My journey, however, has not been so good, I was Diagnosed in July, Had my lumpectomy with 32 sentinel nodes removed 23rd July @0192019. which showed cancer gone, within three weeks I started Chemotherapy where my oncologist was not so positive, he told me how lucky I am to still be alive, and if it comes back will receive only palliative care, I agreed, but he was not happy giving me any Chemotherapy, I told him we must try, he was not happy but, he said yes, At that time I had noticed a lump come up under my arm, he told me to go straight back to the Breast care centre, I phoned for an appointment but before I even got an appointment another lump appeared, So now I have 2, I saw my surgeon and she thought it was fluid, so she tried aspiration, none was coming out so she took cytology slides, she kept saying don't worry, until that is she read my notes again, and said oh dear you were the one we had to take a lot of nodes from,I said yes with dread, she told me she would ring me last week, but I knew in my heart it had come back, it is out to get me, she contacted my oncologist and told him it was back, but told him to stick with my regime, I had my second session of Chemotherapy yesterday, which I was glad to report nothing untoward, but I awoke at 05 20 am today in floods of tears, but I don't know why, can anyone tell me is this the norm.
