Hi Stace-sorry to hear about your diagnosis, it’s always such a shock. 

Early stage cervical cancer is very treatable and curable. I have stage 2b, which is “locally advanced” and I’ve had my treatment and had no evidence of disease since.

Early stage may be treated by a hysterectomy. But until you have an mri, they won’t make any decisions on what treatment you should have...it will depend on the size of the tumour and what stage you are. 

My stage was too advanced for a hysterectomy, so I had chemo and radiation. It’s done the job and I am feeling very well now!

My stepdaughter who is now 40 had cervical cancer several years ago. She had an MRI which showed no spread. She had a cone biopsy and they took some lymph nodes. I cannot remember what stage grade etc she had, but she has had no reoccurence. She has regular smears and sees the consultant once a year. She was offered a hysterectomy at the time but declined one as she had no children. She still has no children but this is because she has no luck with men. So please please try to remain positive. She has got rid of it and so can you be rid of it. It's a huge shock and course you will be in bits but it's curable. Think of your lovely family and they will all be there for you.

Thank you for your reply, this is what I need to help me through is the positivity. They have booked my MRI for next Friday so I will no what stage it’s at then. So glad your daughters in the clear. Iv got a wonderful family and need to stay strong for my daughter xxx

I was post menopausal and had bleeding and then quite a lot of pelvic pain. I had punch biopsies taken by the gynaecologist which came back as cancer, then an mri, followed by a ct scan to check for any spread. Luckily it hadn’t spread out of my pelvis. I had a tumour of 3.7cm, and I believe it could be seen as the doctor looked up there. 

I’m a really positive person so I made sure I told myself every single day that I would get well and would get rid of this. My treatment was really successful and it is for many ladies. Your doctors will tell you that they are treating to cure you. Believe them! xx

I went to consultant yesterday was told I have stage 1a uterine cancer my ct scan was good just got to have hysterectomy soon maybe key hole surgery I was worried it was going to be stage 3 or 4
