Hi Caz,
Welcome to the forum although I'm sorry to hear about your Dad's diagnosis.
We actually have a number of members here who have been diagnosed with differing degrees of oesphageal cancer. [@davek] has an inoperable diagnosis and you can read more about his story here.
[@tonid]'s husband has been diagnosed as well as [@19Saddaughter84]'s father so please don't feel that you are alone. There are lots of folk here who understand how you will be feeling at the moment.
We have some information on our website about oesophagael cancer which I've linked incase you have any questions. We also have a team of nurses who you can call to talk to about Dad's diagnosis and treatment. You can call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Jenn

Hi we have appointment today to discuss chemo and his surgery, we have been told we are lucky as it has been caught really early as it hasn't spread . Just a real shock as there is no history of cancer in our family but I suppose it does not discriminate. My dad has a long road ahead but we are determined to stay positive
