Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I have cervical cancer, but have been successfully treated, so I know just how you will be feeling. It’s scary going for the scan, but it doesn’t take long. My scan showed my cancer hadn’t spread, so I hope you get a positive result too. 

It’s hard to stay calm in this waiting period when you don’t have all your information, but once you know exactly what you’re dealing with and what your treatment will be, you will start to feel more in control.

When I went to see the consultant he was trying to explain but he get making a light heart of it I think he said it is advanced and a hystertomy will be needed but since I had my hysterocomy I have uncomfortable bleeding slightly went to gynaecologists they said looks okay I am scared

So...you had a hysterectomy? Or do you mean a hysteroscopy (which is an examination with a camera).

The reason I ask is that a hysterectomy wouldn’t be carried out with advanced cervical cancer..the treatment would be chemo and radiotherapy. Only early stage cancer is treated with a hysterectomy. The ct scan will be used to help with the staging of the cancer. Did you have an mri scan too? xx

I mean hysteroscopy that was to remove a polyps and this is how they found it I had it done two weeks tomorrow and the consultant seen me last Friday the mcmillian nurse just gave me a card and said if you have any problems just ring not a great deal was said at moment  because I am having lot of pain in lower part and back I keep thinking it is advanced any slight pain but they are testing me for infection will be letting me know today because of little bleeding the gynaecologist said to me the other day that is normal after having this done I am on aspirin as I had a heart attack 3 years ago 

I had a hysteroscopy too, and was bleeding a lot afterwards. Think it’s quite normal. Ok, so you’ve only been told that it’s cervical cancer at the moment? It takes a bit of time to get the scans done and get discussed so the treatment can be planned, but it’s horrible having to wait and not know the full picture. 

I think we all have fears that the cancer will have spread, and will be advanced but often that’s not the case at all, and the treatment was cervical cancer is very effective. You may have an infection after having polyps removed-my friend had this done and had a nasty infection afterwards which caused a lot of discomfort. xx

I had a swab taken the other day from emergency gynaecologist in case I had infection I have been phoning hospital for results she just rang me back and said we are so sorry but the gynaecologist has put the swab taken in wrong pot could you get your doctor to repeat this to get into my nurse at doctors takes up to 6 weeks I will see my gp tomorrow but they keep making errors

Oh that’s unfortunate...it’s awful when mistakes are made and it keeps you waiting again. Hope you can get an appointment quickly...surely they will do that for you when there’s been an error made? xx
