Mum Recently diognoised with lung cancer

hi ,

mum has recently been diognoised with proberable  lung cancer and told because it’s on both lungs , it’s untreatable.

They couldn’t do a biopsy as she’s too frail.

What took her to hospital in the first place is a fall and then while in hospital she got very ill with an infection which they couldn’t find the cause of which was very frustrating as they then said we have to treat the infection first before saying she actually has lung cancer .

After treatment she still has the lesions on both lungs .

All we got told was they can’t treat it and we took her home. Her doctors also gave us a just in case box .

Does this mean she hasn’t got much time left ? They didn’t want to commit so I’m non the wiser . After a few days mum has become much more like her old self even though she’s lost a lot of weight . I have come home to look after her.

thsnk you

  • Hello

My Mum was diagnosed with lung cancer at the end of May. She also had liver mets and a large lymph node swelling that juts came up over night. Also no talk of treatment . Within days we had the support of the local hospice and lots happened quickly. She has a hospital bed , commode and three daily visits from Marie Curie. You need to speak to her GP to see what support you can get. I have been signed off by s very understanding GP to help my dad care for her. Please seek out all the support you are able to have and take care of yourself too. X

  • thank you for your reply , I’m trying my best to find out as much as I can so I’ll can look after her .

A few days ago she was really bad but the next day like herself again even though still very tired and needs help to walk , it’s been a real roller coaster ride with the ups and downs.

I’m so sorry about your mum too , it’s really devastating  take care of yourself too my dear xx
