Hello. I was diagnosed on Wednesday with esophageal cancer. This started with swallowing difficulties and nothing else. They told me after a failed endoscopy that there was a chance it could be cancerous but biopsies would tell them that. Following endoscopy I had CT straight away, the following Tuesday I had a PET/CT then I had an MRI. I didn't get results until after all tests as they wanted to make sure. It's rare in someone my age and this kind of cancer is more common in men. 

I would say it is 50/50 but there are a lot of other causes of blockages. I would say wait for the results. I know it's hard trust me but the doctors know what they are doing. I wish you luck and I will be thinking of you. I hope this helps a little.
