gutted

Hi thank you all for replying, the shock of my husbands cancer had really knocked us for 6, were told on the 14th of May kidney tumour  11cms spots on lung everything moved pretty quick up to the diagnosis but his operation will not be until 9th of July! now they are saying he has to have 1 unit of blood on the 1st of July  and 2 units of blood on the 2nd of July because hi is slightly anemic i understand that they want him in the best health before the operation but my fear is that the cancer will spread further.

  • Hi gutted, welcome to the forum, if there was any danger of spreading Dr would tell you,, from finding my C to starting treatment was over FOUR months that was over three years ago, im still here and fine, i know it's hard but try to relax. C doesn't just affect the pacient it affects all the family,.

  • Thank you for replying, just feel so alone and useless and that i should be able to do something to help my husband just hearing the  word cancer sent me into panic mode inside (nursed my older brother who had pancreatic cancer) its great to hear positive feedback, So a big thank you

  • Hi gutted

Being healthy enough for the operation is something my consultant repeatedly says every time I’ve seen him. Fit to be operated on, then strong enough for the recovery. The minor delays I’ve suffered are irritants but drive my wife to despair.

She has the same fears you do but took comfort in a flood of letters with post-op appointments arriving. “Oh, they still think you’re going to be around, so that’s good” is her way of looking at it.
