Newly diagnosed with incurable cancer

Hi all

5 weeks ago I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer but I knew that it was not the source as I had been having issues with a pain in my left side for 2 years but was always dismissed that it could be cancer as I'm 35 and they said I was to young for pancreatic cancer this week I was then told after some ct mri's and a pet scan that I do have pancreatic cancer which was my primary and have secondary in my liver, lungs and breast and still waiting on results from my bone marrow biopsy this is so much to take in especially with 5 young children two of which are only 3 and 4 years old am completely heart broken but now I need to get in with it start treatment I understand incurable is different from terminal but feel I know so little and what to expect xxx

  • Hi sonya

Welcome to the forum, but sorry you've had to join. incurable means they can treat C but can not get rid of it, terminal means it just keeps spreading, I've been incurable over 3 years now you can live with it mines in prostate, lymph nodes, spine, ribs and pelvis when first found also in one lung, I'm living a normal life, i retired at 67 to look after my disabled wife or I'd still be working i know yours is different places but you can still have treatment to get rid of some of it, it does help to talk to others on here as well, I know it's hard but try to relax, occupy yourself like I said I know it's hard, all these people on here are going through or gone through it best of luck.

  • Thanks Billy

Thankfully I am a very positive person and I know that will help and I can tell you my 5 kids keep me well occupied so no chance in dwelling on it. I am glad to have this site as I feel its easier to talk to others than those closest to me as I am trying to hold every one else together right now. Thanks again Billy as before this happens you don't really understand that there is a difference between terminal and incurable I didn't anyway s thanks hope you are continuing to do well

  • Hi I'm fine have you been told what treatment yet, or have you some more tests,. If you have hope they don't take to long. From finding my C to starting treatment was over FOUR months, I was getting fed up with it.
