SMZL USA

Hi, I was diagnosed with SMZL Lymphoma after having my spleen removed due to it being very enlarged major fatigue, fevers, night sweats and abnormal bloodwork in June 2018. My surgery went well and within  a few weeks I was feeling well with energy and my bloodwork was good.   I did not receive any Rituximab at that time.

Six months later I had a return of the Lymphoma with a vengeance. I was put on Rituxan once a week for four weeks. It’s now 2 weeks after and I’m feeling very well.

The lymphoma was not in my blood in June of 2018. It Currently is. Had bloodwork recently and my numbers are encouraging.  I have a local fantastic oncologist and I also am in a study at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

Rituxan has been a miracle drug for me hopefully I will not need it again for a long time.

Wishing you all good health

Michele

  • Hi Michele

I am a 37 year old male and was diagnosed with SMZL last July.

My symptoms at the time were persistent mulcers and upon investigation I was found to have a high WBC count.

My spleen was enlarged at 17cm and I have bone marrow involvement.

I for the past 12months I have  bèem on watch a wait with regular blood tests. My WBC count has steadily risen to 34 with all other counts stable.

I know I will need treatment in the future and feel fine at the moment.

I have found it realy hard to find any current research and anyone in a similar position as me to talk to.

I read your post and was wondering how you was getting on?

    Regards
