Hello.

I'm feeling very upset as my 78 year old Mum who I love dearly was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer with liver mets 3 weeks ago, following investigations for anaemia.  She had started to have breathlessness,  fatigue and itchy skin. She also had been having chest pains on exertion.  Unfortunately,  she has a bowel obstruction in her transverse colon which is preventing her from eating. She's been existing on a saline drip and sips of water.  We were told a few weeks ago that they can't operate as its far too risky, especially with her age and her frailty. They also won't subject her to chemo or the like.  Mum has had coeliac disease, as I have too (both since mid-llife).

It breaks my heart as my Mum has always looked after herself brilliantly.  We're told she has 'weeks or days to live'. It really does suck.
