Dad has been diagnosed with grade 4 glioblastoma

hello, please could someone shed some light. My dad has recently had the news of glioblastoma grade four. I have done some research into survival  times and obviously doesn’t make good reading. My dad was lucky enough to have all of the tumour removed and is about to start radiotherapy and chemo. Does anyone no if the survive time increases and if so by how long on average as the tumour at this stage is no longer there. This maybe a stupid question if so I am sorry

  • Welcome to the forum John although I'm sorry about your dad's diagnosis.

We have some general information about survival for brain tumours on our website but your dad's medical team will be in the best position to answer this, so if you're able to get his permission you could speak with them privately about this and ask any other questions that are playing on your mind.

Our cancer nurses are just a phone call away on 0808 800 4040 if you'd like to speak to them about this as well. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Best wishes to you both,
