Thyroid Cancer

I got my biopsy results back and I have thryroid cancer, TTF1 which  has spread into my lymph nodes. Any one have any advice? I meet with a surgeon on Saturday to discuss TT, and neck resection, an endo today to discuss 'after' and an oncologist on Tuesday. It's fast and scary.

  • Hi there

sorry to hear of your results. Sending lots of positive vibes your way. Unfortunately I am not in the same position, rather I am still waiting for an ultrasound of my thyroid. Do you mind me asking what your initial symptoms were?

Big hugs and positive thoughts your way xx

  • Hello!

    Thank you for replying.

I had no symptoms, I had an xray for a hernia and they saw something. I had scans, a CT with contrast and biopsy on lymph nodes in my neck, and the results are thyroid cancer. My blood work is fine.

I'm sorry you are going through this! I hope your ultrasound goes well.

Thank you for the positive vibes!

Good luck! I'm here if you need me!

  • That seems to be common with no symptoms and it being picked up when investigating something else!

Best luck to you & Thank you for your reply! :)

  • Hi all,

Yes normal bloods and no symptoms is common. I myself had no symptoms and normal bloods. Had gotten thin in the face and pale. Went for routine bloods (thought I'd be low in iron), gp noticed lump by chance when I swallowed. I had papillary type 2.5cm in size. The ttf1 is above my knowledge base I'm afraid.

A few people in my area have had thyroid cancer (1 lady papillary spread to lymph, the other I'm unsure what type he had)- some had symptoms and spread to lymph nodes. They're doing good now. Some had a rougher time than others with swallowing after op and rai treatment but doing well now.

    Hope this helps somewhat

  • Hi.
I have thyroid cancer since 2017. Got 80% out by surgery and 20% by radiation treatment.
it's now spread to my lungs. I'm on a chemo targeted drug since March called Lenvima. Anyone experiencing side effects of this ? I can't eat. It's like razor blades in my mouth so I'm on protein drinks. My biggest problem is my feet. Really hard to walk. Pain inside feet. Wake up with pains in my thighs and shins. Tried creams. Podiatrist. Chiropodist. Acupuncture. Soaking in epson salts. Would really appreciate anyone who has experience of these side effects to give me some advice. Here's hoping
