I am trying to reply to Duckpondirl

I was diagnosed Dec 2016 but probably had it for while longer. Originally type 1 but a new classification  came out and was reclassified to type 0 which meant my monocytes were relatively low. I was not offered SC treatment probably because of my age (77) but I was still very fit at the time and very active sports wise. It would be interesting to know the age of your husband as he is looking for donors and wonder if different regions offer this option. My biggest problem are my platelets(46) as I'm full of bruises and only have to have slight knock or scrape on something and I bruise so easily. Mentally I'm coping at the moment but wonder what the future holds. I see the consultant every 3 months or so and I'm on wait and watch but note that my monocytes count seems to increase with each visit which is worrying. Any info you have regarding whatever will be gratefully received. I live in Huddersfield and see a conultant at the HRI. I hope your husband finds a donor
