    Hi BigJean,

A very warm welcome to our forum, although I'm sorry for the reason you've joined. I hope that your results on Tuesday can help to put your mind at rest. Even if the news is not so good, it helps to know what the next moves are and puts a more positive slant on things.

I suspect that the pain in your back is consequential to your diagnosis. We always seem to think the worst and develop all sorts of additional symptoms. In most cases this seems to be due to stress.

I have lost my mum to breast cancer and, have had 2 bouts myself within the past 9 years. Waiting for results is always one of the most stressful times of a cancer journey. Try to keep yourself distracted by other pursuits and do your best to stay away from Google. The fact that you are healthy and have never smoked, should stand you in good stead with any treatment needed.

Do please keep in touch and let us know how you get on on Tuesday. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine ,

thank you for your kind words . I’m so sorry you lost your mum and you going through it twice . I am not going to let it get me down just back from a big walk with my family and I feel great . That’s the weird thing I don’t feel sick at all .

I’ll let you know how I get on on Tuesday but I am ready to fight

    talk soon xx

    Hi WoollyLamb,

I hope that your temperature is going down now and, that you are getting more used to the drains. They can be a nuisance, but they won’t be in for long. You must be doing well if they are talking about letting you out on Monday.
    Kind Regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • hi yes my friend think I know how lol yes my sister going to be there I appreciate you telling me about trolley she got it this morning an£ loves it said much easier to move and stop I really hope nothing too serious but with the effects you were better to see what's causin* it as you know if you turned unwell which I hope you dont they would run tests sooner I know what like it's all the waiting tests etc lorraine xx

  • Hi @bigjean

How are you getting on? I was discharged yesterday with one drain, and I have a Doppler wire still in situ. Got to go back tomorrow to have both removed so hopefully will be a little freer to move around. Struggling to get comfy to sleep but I prefer to be at home than in the hospital. Hope you are doing ok.

  • Hi [@Woollylamb]‍ I was discharged today ! I still have one drain in too . So glad to be home can’t wait to get into my own bed . So glad you got out too you seemed to be in there a lot longer than me! You rest up and hope all goes well getting the other drain and wire out . I’m back Thursday/Friday to have drain out .

Another hurdle down . We both did it

    Stay in touch .

  • Hi

I think I was in longer because of the reconstruction, they needed to make sure that the flap didn't die, they were checking me every 15 minutes for the first 24 hours, then every 30 minutes. and my temp was up and down like a yo yo. Just hope they take this stuff out tomorrow As it's painful now.  Managing the rest of the pain with paracetamol.

Glad to hear you are out, makes such a difference to be in your own home.

We definitely did do it, were nearer the end than the beginning now.

    Hi Woolylamb,

I found a small heart shaped pillow, which I placed under my arm a great help in making it easier to sleep. You might find this helpful too.

I hope that all goes well with getting your drain and Doppler wire removed tomorrow.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi BigJean,

I'm glad to hear that you got home today and hope that you are doing well and are not too uncomfortable.

    Thinking of you,

  • Hi woollylamb, bigjean and jolamine

sorry not been on again but have struggled with this paxotaxin or whatever it’s calked. The pain even with strong painkillers is taking me out of action for a few days but my last cycle is next Friday - whoop whoop!! I’m going to hang off that bell lol x

glad to hear your ops have gone well ladies. My drain was in for about seven days and was a relief when taken out. If you had lymph nodes removed please do the exercises given but don’t push it, take it nice and easy. At first it’s hard and sore and can’t really move the car but over time it just becomes easier. I would say I nearly have full movement back but now it looks like lymphodema so occasionally I am restricted in movement but they have given me an exercise to do for next few weeks to see if it helps.

thank you ladies for being on here. I know I haven’t supported you as much as I would have liked but for me just reading your comments about your journey and your experiences have given me comfort that I wasn’t on my own and y thoughts/fears are natural x

  • Hi ,

hopefully you get all the stuff out today and you’ll be a lot more comfortable. I’m hoping to get the drain out Thursday or Friday! I’ve taken Tramadol for pain but have been given paracetamol too . It’s great being home , own bed and just being in your own surroundings is bliss .

    We are doing great .

    Take care
