ive recently been diagnosed with DCIS & had previously never heard of it. As my mother in law died from breast cancer I have quite conscious of checking g myself regular. However it was a bit of a shock to find a pea sized lump not long ago. Went to my GP straight away who referred me to the hospital. Had a biopsy which was quite an experience & was left with extensive bruising & hematoma. Had my lumpectomy on the 19th march & have found out today I need a further operation to remove a little bit more. Once that’s done I’ll need radiotherapy!

how have people coped financially& emotionally? I’ve been off work for 5 weeks so far & it looks like I’ll be off for a minimum of 5 weeks again! Is it manageable to work while having radiotherapy? My job is physically demanding with me lifting a lot of stock! This is the reason I’ve currently been off since before my operation as the bruising was so bad & took weeks to heal!
