Waiting for next steps

Hi, I'm 44 and recently been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. It all went really quickly, saw the oncologist last mon, MRI and CT scan booked in for tomorrow. Then that's it, I'm not sure what's happening after that, they said chemo needs to start in a few weeks but just feel really anxious about when things will get started. I'm quite an organised freak so feels very much out of my control. I have 2 young girls that I want to keep updated too. An advice greatly appreciated xx

  • Hi Button02,

    Welcome to Cancer Chat.

I can understand that the scans and upcoming treatment can be daunting so recently after diagnosis. A way you can feel more in control is going to your appointments prepared, with any concerns or questions you might have. It will also give you a better understanding of the process, which you can explain to your daughters. I thought I'd show you this page here, which is a good start in understanding this type of cancer and one on Chemotherapy, which will tell you all the aspects of the treatment.

I hope this will be useful for you and all the best to you.
