Thyroid cancer

I found a small lump on my right side of thyroid got biopsies day of the ultrasound and was told they could only tell it was a follicular lump but inconclusive about cancer, but I was told by the radio waves it was giving of it looked like it could be cancer, I was so scared when they said I'd have to have half my thyroid taken away, anyway 4 weeks ago I had it done and wasn't to bad, but I have a follow up appointment this Friday to get my results I gather, if it is cancer will they have to remove the other half or will it be ok as they took the bad half out it was only seemingly 1 and a half cm, the nodule, can any one help me that's being in the same situation please

  • I was also told if I wanted a cancer this is the one I would pick, because it so curable to, but still scary.

  • I was having problems swallowing and had a funny throat turned out I needed omeprazole and it helped a lot. My first doc told me there was no lump I had to force him to send me for an ultra sounf. After ultra sound and biopsy they had unclear results so opted to take half my thyroid out and test it which came back follicular thyroid cancer. Unfortunately my cancer cells have broken edges so they now have to remove the other side and give me radiotherapy ablation. Can you imagine if I didn't make the doctor sende me for an ultra sound. This cancer spreads through the blood stream predominantly and very rarely the lymphs. The scary bit is I won't know of the radiotherapy ablation had killed of any cells flying through my body for about 2-8 years. Cancer sucks and even if this is the best one to get it still sucks. There is only a 10% chance that the module will be cancer. Then an only 14 % chance it will be follicular cancer and only about a 1-2% for it to spread. With my odds I need to put a lottery ticket on
