Worried wife looking for more info please

What are they likely to do at the specialist appointment?

Do you think cos he hasn’t been sent for blood tests that they are not concerned?

What does testicular cancer lump feel like?

What questions to ask the specialist?

Any advice would be appreciated, many thanks

  • Hello and thank you for your post.

I can appreciate your worry for your husband, but I am afraid that we are unable to say if this is anything serious. It is reassuring to know that he has an appointment to be seen by a urologist, who will give you and your husband much more information about his situation.

If the urologist is concerned or is not sure what this is I think the next steps would be to order a blood test and possibly another scan, although this might not be needed. Your husband's testicle will also be examined. I think he should mention his other symptoms, although they are hopefully nothing to be worried about.

Trying to find out what is the matter before this appointment is not going to help and may cause unnecessary concern. So in the meantime I hope you don't worry to much and that he gets seen soon.

You would be welcome to give us a call, you may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline.  The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

We are currently trying to get an impression of how satisfied Cancer Chat members are with the answers the nurses are posting to their questions.  We would be very grateful if you would take a few minutes to fill in the feedback survey here

    Take care,

    Caroline
