Bladder Cancer

hi

my dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer last week. He had been complaining of frequent urinating in the night and not being able to hold on to go and lower back pain. He went to docs and he had (non visable) blood in his urine test. Blood tests came back negative but still a significant amount of blood was found in his urine tests. MRI, CT scans and Ultrasound showed nothing so he had the camera down his willy where they discovered a lump. He had a biopsy but after surgery the surgeon said it looked more like inflammation but was sending off to find out. They called him in to say bladder cancer. No stage given and surgery within two weeks which is either to remove from lining or take bladder if it is in the muscle. I am curious to hear if anyone has had anything similar and what stage they were at. I am just praying that because all other tests came back negative that this means we got it quick and it won’t be as bad as we are thinking it is.

  • Hi there ...

So sorry your dad's having to go on this cancer journey of ours .. but you sound amazingly caring ..

There are a few men who answer threads with (men's problems) and I'm answering so it takes your thread back to the beginning, and hopefully .. [@davek]‍ / [@Taff]‍  / [@telemando]‍ will pick it up ... though I loose track of who's had what cancer ... but at least they can give you a male perspective ...
