Tnbc mets

Hello,

my mum was diagnosed over Christmas with tnbc mets to brain, lungs, kidney and liver. She started Xeloda last week. On it for two weeks, off one. She will also receive WBR for five sessions. She is feeling fine at the moment. I’m just very worried and seeking positivity from anyone who can share some.

  • Hi Karenzy1,

Welcome to Cancer Chat, and I'm so sorry to hear this about your mum. This must be very hard for you.

Hopefully one of our members will be along soon to offer you further support, especially if they have similar experience.

Do discuss any concerns you may have with your mum's consultant if you're unsure of anything. Please know our nurses are also here for you if you have any questions at all. You can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

It's good that she is feeling fine at the moment. I do wish both her and yourself all the very best, and I hope you find this forum useful - it's a very supportive community of people.

    Ben

  • hi

so sorry about your mum it’s so hard isn’t it xI don’t have positive story to share my mum has also been told this week that the TNC has spread and is now incurable It’s such a shock there was never mention to us about how high the chances were of it returning and everywhere you look the prognosis is so poor - I was looking up immunotherapy but it seems like it won’t be available on NHS until 2020 Have you spoken to anyone about this treatment? It seems to be the only emerging treatment that really helps this type xx
