Hi I have recently been diagnosed with a tumor on my esophacus and have been told it is curable with flot chemo and then surgery. Has anyone ever had flot chemo as I'm told it is very strong .

Hi
my first four lots of flot went quite well had the usual leg aches tingly fingers slight sickness and loss of appetite also I list my sense of taste too
my operation went very well 9 and half hours they had to take part of my stomach away to make a new lower part of my oesophagus also they removed my lymph nodes from where they expect it to spread
I was out of hospital in 8 days
the second phase of flot after surgerywas much harder as there was nothing for it to attack I could only manage a further 3 more cycles but the oncologist said as long as you can have 80% of the recommened course they are happy with thst
its now nearly 12 months since my op I gradually put my weight back on and feeling quite well and strong
hope all goes well with your treatment and operation
good luck
