Anal cancer

Hello just wondering if anyone could help my mom was send to the hospital in november and got told she could have  cancer or piles she had a biopsy, CT scan,

mri scan and blood tests all come back inconclusive so after 8 weeks she got sent for a ultrasound scan and first time seeing a consultant he actually told her today even though all tests have come back  inconclusive her is 90 percent certain it's cancer and the best option is to have her bowels completely removed I just don't know what to think

  • Hi A69,

I'm sorry about your mom diagnosis. my boyfriend has colon cancer, and boy what a journey it was during the first exams, to have the complete diagnosis. From that, it was just a rollercoaster of treatments and sad news...
I know it is very hard to receive such news, you may be in shock, which is completely normal. I also was in shock, as well as other people in this forum.
Usually, doctors are correct, so if they say her best option is to remove her bowels that must be it... my boyfriend has liver metastasis, and because they are so many they cannot be removed. Doctors gave him a terminal diagnostic because he cannot be operated.
So hopefully with the intervention, your mom will get better...

    Best of luck**
