Dad has bladder cancer

We have just found out that my dad has a Grade 3 tumour in his bladder .

I'm just looking for support ,  I am devastated, he is only 65 .

He has been booked for an MRI this week and an op end of the month to scrape it.

They have said it may take a few tries, and will inject chemo.

When they complete an MRI , are they looking to see if it has spread ? He hasn't been staged or anything as yet .

I just wondered what tests people had ?

I'm so worried and so so upset , I'm trying to do it all in private as don't want to get upset infront of him.

I don't know what I would do without him , and I am so scared .

My mum also has dialysis 3 times a week as she has end stage kidney failure .

He is the one that holds us all together .

I'm not coping very well at all with it.

It's heartbraking ,

  • Hi there ...

Wer not meant to cope with it, or to be strong all the time ... I'm sure your all holding so many feelings in .. it's really not good for anyone ... this cancer journey is about sharing feelings, admitting everyone is scared .. and sharing tears and lots of hugs ..

It's about giving yourself permission to feel all those feelings.. and know it's o.k .. even superwoman would crumble going through this journey... and wer only human ...

    I'm 64 and a grade 3 breast cancer .. l had a mastectomy in 2017 .. and still going strong .. so some grade 3 can be o.k too ...

So try to share and l know I'm really open with my cancer and we all cope better knowing we are holding on together ... forget the stiff upper lip ... it's all about balance .. feelings out .. listening to each other, honestly ... and then facing each problem as and when it comes up .. it's a rollercoaster ride ... but there's lots of us on that same ride with you. .

Sending you a big hug ... Chrissie xx
