My wonderful partner with devastating news.

Hi Everyone.

My lovely caring partner has once again, less than 12 months later been diagnosed with bowel cancer, which has spread to kidney, liver, and stomach wall .

This is once again a very upsetting time,  we are looking for positivity from any source available.

Friends and family are kind and have offered many ideas to include using  ingredients of lemon, ginger, coconut oil,etc in diet  And introduction of CBD...

Do any of you lovely people out there have something positive to help us along.

My partner will have a pump for Chemo, and if no positive results a targeted treatment will be added as well.

Thank you in anticipation and I am looking forward to becoming a member of your forum.

Best wishes to all. Xx

    Hi Monto,

    Welcome to our forum.

It is always devastating to learn that cancer has spread elsewhere and, I am not at all surprised that this has knocked you both for 6. By all means listen to friends and family's advice, but don't implement any changes until you have discussed them with the consultant. Some alternative and homoeopathic products can reduce the action of allopathic medicine.

Again, discuss the benefits of CBD with the consultant. This has been discussed on the forum before. If you go to the blue banner at the top of this page and click on the search box, insert CBD and press. This will brring up previous posts on the topic, which you might find helpful. When is the chemo cheduled to start?

It is with your help that your partner will stay positive. You will need to be the strong one here, I have cared for my mum, who had secondary breast cancer, which had spread to her brain, bones, liver and lungs. It is a hard road that you are on and, I hope and pray that you get the strength to support your partner all the way.

Please keep in touch and let us know how things go. We are always here for you both.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine

  • Hi Jolamine,

    Thank you for your reply.

Yes it is a tough road... Head is all over the show, trying to still work, run a home and be support for a loved one with a terrible disease which I wish would just disappear!

We are going to discuss CBD oil today at a health shop, but you just don't know if you are doing right or wrong. Not saying we will definitely purchase!

It's interesting to read that somebody was 'asked' if they wanted chemotherapy for BC.... As after surgery it was gone. We were told that BC had gone after surgery, but they would blast it to make sure.

We all put our faith and trust in these people, and it doesn't do people any good to have to make such decisions themselves when we aren't the medical experts.

There are so many opinions and options or maybe not so many 'options' it becomes simply mind boggling.

Sorry, but just need to speak to somebody.

Thank you again to anybody who replies and can offer the simplest of help.

  • Hi Alfmeister,

Thank you... You are exactly right,if I could take my partner for treatment today, I would...

    But,we have to wait!

He will be having chemo through a pump, which he will come home with,it has spread from bowel to stomach wall,kidney,liver... If the chemo doesn't work, they will add targeted treatment.

I only wish there was a miracle cure!

We were told this Monday,so all new to us as to the extent of this.

My partners father had the same 20+ years ago..

Just waiting for appointments now for the pump to be fitted and are op etc,we believe will be the same day.

    Thank you for your reply.

    Hi Gaynor,

It is never easy trying to carry on with your daily activities, as well as care for a loved one.

I am interested to see how you get on with your discussion on CBD oil today. I tried it for my hubby recently and it didn't work at all, but I understand that there is a big difference between suppliers.

It is paramount that we trust our care team, as we are really placing our lives in their hands. I didn't have a good experience first time around. That was 9 years ago. When I got my second cancer 8 years ago, I had a different consultant and, what a difference that has made.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine,

Just to let you know,we decided to leave our visit to the health shop today....

We both said we don't want to jeopardise the effects of the chemotherapy in any way,and feel we should let the experts do their job in the first instance, if down the line we feel that maybe we do need to try any extra help then we may discuss CBD.

It's amazing really how within just a few hours you change your mind about things, but just for the time being we will leave things as they are.

Just thought I would let you know as you have been so kind to contact me.

    Thank you once again.

    Take care

    Hi Gaynor,

You have made a wise decision for the time being. See what betterment the doctors can achieve first.

Don't be afraid to discuss CBD oil with with your partner's consultant and/or oncologist. They are usually very helpful in giving advice about this.

Don't worry about changing your mind today. You will find that your feelings will probaly change with the wind at times as you travel this journey.

Thank you for letting me know and please keep us updated.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
