    Hi Ursula,

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through such a worrying time.Did your surgeon send your polyps away to pathology and if so, have you heard any more since?

Have you been given a date for your surgery yet, or do you know what grade your cancer is?

I am thinking of you and hoping and praying that it all goes well.

Please let us know how you get on and, remember that we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine  I only had the polyps removed on Friday the 4th of January 1 looked very suspicious was sent to be tested I've to meet with the doctor & surgeon on Wednesday the 9th of January hope to have some results then they have also said there is something small in right lung that needs to be investigated as well  I'm worried about the results of everything    thanks for replying  Ursula

  • Hi Jolamine sorry so long in replying Iv just copped on how to get back on this im not the best on computers ....1 of the polyps was cancer but doc,s are not to worried about that ...  Iv had my lower lung lobe removed late January it was 8cm very big ..docs say a very high chance of the cancer returning within the next 2 years offering chemo with chances of it not returning of a little over 5% to say im worried sick is an understatement

  • Hi Ursula. One of the Moderator's gave me a link to your posts. I hope you don't mind. I had Adenocarcinoma of my upper lung which was, thankfully,  slow growing because our hospital had a chest Xray from 2 years previously but didn't let my G.P. know so I was wandering about with a tumour on my upper lobe with no treatment. I had flu last June which went into pneumonia and was really frightening but the Thoracic Consu, tant gave me a chest Xray which showed the tumour and when he looked back through my records he found the original Xray and asked me why I hadn't had treatment and was shocked when I said that I knew nothing about it.

Long story but I, also, had a Lobectomy last September of the upper right lobe and also had 4 polyps removed from my bowel which were O.K. but I had been going with stomach pains, nausea, weight loss, bleeding for 3 years but had been seeing the wrong kind of Consultant. Sorry. You can see why it's a long story. The situation now is that I had a C.T. Scan a month ago and my Consultant has seen an area of "opacity" at the bottom of my right lung but wants to wait another 2 months before  doing a C.T because he wants to see whether it grows  so I'm a bit scared that the cancer has come back. I didn't have Chemo after the Lobectomy.

Your tumour was bigger than mine as mine was 2 cms. How are thing's with you now? Do you have nerve damage pain from the drain site and did you have keyhole or the bigger op? I am so sorry you are still going through worry and more scans but it seems to be the way it goes. I am sure you still get really tired because your Lobectomy is more recent than mine. To me the waiting for results is one of the worst things but I have always been really independent and I'm finding it difficult to ask for help but I have to! Grrrrr! How is your breathing? I hope I haven't rattled on too much!

I truly hope that thing's improve for you and I would be really interested to hear how you are and wish you nothing but the best. If you need to offload then please do it. I am hear if you want to laugh,  cry or scream so please feel free!

    Thinking of you.

    Hi Ursula,

It's good to hear from you again, although I'm sorry that your news isn't better.
How are you feeling after your lobectomy and, what have you decided about chemo?

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
