Hello.

I was diagnosed in November and due to have lumpectomy on 9th Jan.

I am to have the radioactive seed inplaced on the 2nd of january.

It been caught very early which Im very gratful but never the less feeling so lonely and confused with the whole sitution.Cant seem to shake off the worrying an feeling anxvious and so scared.

Is this normal or am I being a wimp.:|

    I think being scared is okay. Cancer is a scary place to be but having found it early you are in a good place.

    I had a lumpectomy and lymph node clearance on that side on 17 December and will be back for follow up in early January. I've found the hardest thing is to try not to let your mind rush too far ahead. The waiting is scary. The whole process is scary. Be kind to yourself and be 'wimpy'if you need to. I know I have. 

     

    But then, it is what it is, so take each day at a time and keep fighting.

    For your replies.Had a totally meltdown other day.Such mixed emotions .keep thinling that its not real.

    Welcome to our forum, although I'm sorry for the reason you're here.

    I'm glad to hear that you have caught things early and just wanted to reassure you that it is all 'doable'.

    I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 9 years. The first time I had a lumpectomy, followed by Tamoxifen. Second time around was only a year later, when I had a double mastectomy, followed by Letrozole for 6 years. I stiopped taking this in July 2017 and am still doing well.

    Don't worry about your emotions. They are all perfectly normal and, no, you are definitely not a wimp! This is a particularly scary time of your life.

    I hope that all goes well for you on 9th January.
