Glioblastoma Multiforme, stage 4 frontal cortex

My father has been diagnosed with this and still saddened and shocked but managing and dealign with a day and week and at a time. It is very scary indeed and I am there for him at appointments and supporting my mum.  He is able and doing all he can.  Every day is a blessing to talk with him and walk and eat.  What is expected.  Will taking Cannabis help him I have read so many amazing shrinking tumors of other suffferers.

He is having radiotherapy at the moment.  He just celebrated his 70th life is so cruel.  A man who has eaten healthy and grown and raised own hens to handcrafting his whole life and family to be diagnosed with this is so rotten beyone words.

I have read with shock the outcomes of other patients and can see each is individual and just pray he is never in pain or suffers. All hopes and dreams shattered 2018 has been amazing but this has broken our hearts and shattered our future 2019 and years ahead.  He may have 6 months or less and trying in hope to improve time and slow it down.

Has Cannabis helped anyone ? Thank you Amanda

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat although I'm very sorry about your father's diagnosis.

I saw you were asking about cannabis so I just wanted to share some information that is on the NHS website. It may be a good idea to discuss this with your dad's medical team as well.

We do have some members that have experience of this type of cancer on the forum so hopefully some of them will be along soon but in the meantime I'm including a link to a section we have on the CRUK website about brain tumours as well our cancer nurses telephone number.

The number to call is 0808 800 4040 and phone lines are open from 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday, although they are closed on the 24th December, Christmas day, Boxing day and New Year's Day.

    Kind regards,

  • My dad also had this aged 70, it is a cruel thing to happen and I wish you all the best for the family as I remember how hard it was on everyone. There are no guarantees so enjoys the time you have and make sure you access all possible support, particularly hospice care as we did not have this and it would have helped us all enormously as we had no experience of such a severe illness. I don’t know if cannabis will help but it is worth trying as it won’t do harm.
