sorry to hear of your diagnosis 

 I don’t have any specific experience, however I do have stomach cancer and am waiting for surgery. Have you looked at the oesophagus patients association website https://www.opa.org.uk/ I found them really helpful, there is also a forum https://healthunlocked.com/ if you join the website at search for oesophagus community there are lots of people there with a wealth of experience who will be able to answer your questions.   I do hope things get better for you soon, it must be so frustrating, I do hope your team are looking after you.

I have no advice unfortunately, but wish you well and hope you improve soon, the inabilty to swallow is something I find distressing in my husbands case. 

He has very recently been diagnosed with this, he was told it was stage 3 and maybe operable, then after his laparoscopy the oncologist told him he had stage 4 and all they would offer was 18 weeks of chemo, this was before the results had been discussed in the weekly team meeting they have, obviously we were devastated by this news and spent the worst 24 hours of our life together. Then the following day his surgeon called us in after the weekly meeting, the tumor hadn't spread, he was still in the cusp of being operable.

This week we have been accepted on a trial for immunotherapy alongside chemo, it's still in the very early phases for this type of cancer but his attitude towards it is if it doesn't help him then the results will go to helping others.

Everybody says it meaning well, but stay strong and positive, I know it is difficult at times. As MikesWife has said, the OPA are great, I have found their website extremely helpful

Congratulations at getting through the course of treatment. Your Cancer Nurse Specialist (if you have one) may be able to answer your question and advise whether this is normal at this stage post treatment.

I also have stage 4 cancer of the oesophagus but I only had the chemo, so can't comment about the radio therapy side of things. The OPA and healthunlocked are both worth a visit.
