  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Lientjie although I'm very sorry about your daughter's diagnosis.

We have some information about this type of cancer on our website just here but as it a rare cancer I would recommend giving our cancer nurses a call to find out more. You can call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi there,

I hope you and your daughter are doing doing well. If you don't mind me asking, what were her symptoms?

    Thank you

  • Hi there, we think the first signs was she had apendicites, which was not dealt with twice until her appendices ruptured. She came out of the keyhole operation fine but the apendice was not send for analysis! Two years on she had bloating and just general normal stomach problems. She went to the doctor several times but they said it was the after effects of the operation.

My daughter and her husband and children went for a walk her stomach was quite bloated and suddenly she had tremendous pain. It took two weeks in hospital before the diagnosis was made. The cancer by this time was very advance in the descending colon, peritoneum and limphnodes. It is a very aggressive cancer and at that stage not operable.

One year on and continuous chemo she us now in a wheelchair. It is also in her ovaries. The sad part is she lives in a bubble and still think she will be cured if the doctors even touch on telling her it is not curable she just said I do not want to hear it. She is only just turned 39 with two beautiful children and very happily married. Such an impossible situation.

    kind regards
