Peritoneal cancer in men

Hi, my grandad has recently been diagnosed with peritoneal cancer, we have not been given any other diagnosis at this point. Can I ask can this be a primary or secondary cancer and also what is the treatment option and life expectancy of this rare form.

many thanks

  • Welcome to the forum Kathryn-jai although I'm sorry about your grandad's diagnosis.

Your grandad's medical team will be in the best position to answer your questions however I just wanted to link you to a post one of our cancer nurses made a few years ago which may shed some light on this type of cancer. If you'd like to follow up on anything in that post or would just like to chat to someone about your grandad's situation then give our cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040. Their lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Wishing your grandad all the best on his cancer journey.

    Kind regards,
