Just diagnosed with sarcoma and looking for advice

Hi im 22 and was just diagnosed im really afraid . Could anyone let me know how chemo works does it take all day how long do you vomit for will i be allowed to go home or will i have to be in day and night. If anyone has any advice on how to stay calm or just dealing with cancer in general i would appreciate it.

  • Hi there ...

Bless ya .. I can totally understand why you feel so confused and lost in this journey... have you got a good oncology team ... they know your treatment, and answers to your questions ... have they given you a number to call ..

There's different sinarios for everyone .. every treatment is different ... so you'll hear loads of different times and different reactions to those treatments ...

McMillan helped me through those early days .. it was the fear of the unknown ... and you can talk to a qualified nurse .. they have a number on here too, so you can speak to our lovely nurses .. Mon to Fri . ..

But don't sit just thinking, it will be overwhelming and try to take one day at a time .. one problem .. and don't look too far ahead .. none of us on this earth, knows what tomorrow will hold ...

But you'll always find someone here, to hold your hand through it ... it is like a rollercoaster ride .. the scariest one you'll ever ride .. but hold on tight, wer all on there with you ...

Cancer wants us to buckle, lay down and give in ... well one thing wer all doing is trying to kick cancers *** ... right down this road wer on ... wer all with you ... big hug ... Chrissie

  • Just found out i have 6 months of treatment ahead of me and i have to stay there for a week at a time im really scared of staying in the hospital i have dealt with anxiety and depression all my life and always thought things would get better but im struggling to keep thinking positive.

  • [@Waquarr66]‍ hi, did they happen to tell you a stage or how aggressive you’re sacoma is? Xx

  • Hi Tinkerbell163 first thank you and Chriss so much for your kind words they really made me smile. I have an appointment tommorow to get all the details and be told how severe it is im hoping its just in my arm and not spread but i think its much worse. Its tough to be strong right now but kind words like yours really are a blessing thank you again

  • [@Waquarr66]‍ hi, don’t thank me it’s okay to need someone to talk to you. my dad has stage 4 and I’m caring for him, as I said my cousin had a sarcoma so if I can help I will.

  • I hope your dad gets better and im sure with your love and support he will beat his cancer i will keep him in my prayers . I found out that the cancer did not spread and the sarcoma is just in my arm but due to the type I have to undergo intensive chemo so im worried about how sick it will make me and the vomiting. Once again thank you its really nice of you for offering support.
