  • Hello Julie.

Welcome to the forum and although I'm sorry that you find yourself here.

I know many of our membesr here will have felt that same feeling of being scared that you describe. It's a perfectly normal reaction after being diagnosed to feel this way. There is so much that's unknown for you at the moment.

Do you have someone that is able to come to your appointment with you next week? It can be helpful to have a family member of friend attend with you. You may also want to write down any questions that you have between now and then. It's easy to forget the things you want to ask when you go into the Dr's office. Don't be worried about writing down the answers during the appointment either.

We do have some information on our website about lung cancer which you may find helpful at some point now or in the future. It's easy to find lots of inaccurate information on the internet so if you do search for information then be aware of the sites that you use.

We also have a team of nurses here at Cancer Research UK that you can call to speak to. They are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040. They may be able to answer some of the questions that you have and support you in advance of your appointment next week.

Keep in touch Julie. Let us know how you get on.
    Best wishes,
