  • Hi Fred 64, we're now coming up to our third year of stage 4 lung cancer, husband diagnosed April 2017.  Only a 7% chance before chemo and radiotherapy but he's been positive and tried to stay upbeat during all that time.  It's not been an easy road, I won't lie to you but he will be 74 years old next March so not a young man!  I've kept a blog on this forum since chemo began so I have a day by day diary of what happened.  Don't despair as it doesn't help anyone, worrying and anger waste energy, you'll need all your energy to get through this, so use it wisely.  Everyone will help and advise you every step of the way, the McMillan nurses are there to answer your queries, the oncologist will speak honestly to you, ours said, I'll fight every step of the way for you, what do you want to do?  We fought.  Life is not the same but we take each day at a time, the children still have Dad and the grandchildren their grandad.  So I'm here if you need further help.  All the best for your future,  Carol x
