uncle diagnosed with pancreatic cancer spread to liver

My 70 year old uncle has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and I’m unsure where to start.

i do not know what I am looking for, but just typing out my story will make me feel better. I am extremely close to my uncle and this has been a horrendous blow.

he is unable to keep food down, has to sleep throughout the day and I am so terrified to think about how long he has left. This week he is going for a biopsy on his liver. I am from a medical background and therefore I know what’s coming, but my family don’t want to talk about it or believe it’s happening.

What have been your experiences of this terrible terrible disease? I don’t feel like I can sleep or eat with worry.

  • Hi,

I too had an uncle who had a rare form of pancreatic cancer. It spread to his liver eventually. He was in his late 70's. He felt very weak with it/tired. He took nutritional drinks to boost him up which helped a bit. Wasn't able much for visitors. He used to get an injection into his tummy, I think it was an anti sickness thing but not 100% sure on that one. My uncle had an operation too which took a good bit out of strength out of him and he was a strong man. That was his experience of it. Every patient is different.
