Is secondary cancer curable?

Hello

new user here. I’m just looking for some help... my mum has been diagnosed with secondary cancer And will be starting chemo again soon. We don’t know too much as she’s only had the results of her CT scan so far. I’ve come online to do some research and this website says secondary cancer can’t be cured... I haven’t been told that by my family and everyone is talking about the possibility that the chemo could work again as she’s a strong fit healthy woman... have we just not been told yet that it’s incurable? Or is the info on here inaccurate? I don’t want to be told my mum won’t survive this but I can’t unread what I’ve read and I don’t want to be told she could beat this and she can’t... if anyone has any insight please respond x

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Firecracker123 although I'm sorry that your mum is contending with a secondary cancer diagnosis.

If you want to ask any questions about the information you've read on our website or get clarification on secondary cancer then I'd recommend giving our cancer nurses a call next week. Their number is 0808 800 4040 and their lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,
