Breast cancer with secondaries liver and bones.

We have recently found out my mum has breast cancer and that it has already spread. We have been told it’s not curable and palliative is our only option. Three weeks after being given this news and we’re still waiting to see the oncologist which just baffles me. I’m just wondering if anyone has this diagnosis and what treatment has been offered? Is there anything they can give to help buy us time?

  • Welcome to our forum, Charly323, although I'm sorry to hear about the reason that brings you here.

I'm so sorry to hear that your mum has breast cancer which spread and that the prognosis is poor.

Hopefully you will meet others here who have been through a similar experience with their loved ones and who can share with you their stories and advice.

We do have on our website some information on breast cancer stages, types and grades which I'm linking to this message and I hope this can be of some help.

The other thing I wanted to add is that if you ever feel like speaking to someone medically trained on the phone might help, our cancer nurses are a phone call away on this number: 0808 800 4040 and their line is open Monday - Friday, between 9 a.m - 5 p.m.

Wishing you and your mum all the best,
