Lung Cancer

After five months of exhaustive tests. Scans. Petscan. Biopsies. Etc. Yesterday I was diagnosed with NSCLC Adenocarcinoma. Left lower lobe. I also have two small tumours in my right lung. I met a surgeon yesterday who has explained that he will remove the lobe and dependant on lymph nodes and tests on the lung I will know what will be happening after surgery. Either chemo or radiotherapy. I am still trying to let it all sink in. I am scared about the cancer and the surgery.

  • Hi Ronnie - sounds rather like my cancer - which they found after me having heart attacks end of May - had stents fitted - finally getting sorted and am lucky to be going for surgery
I tend to think - look I have cancer - I cant do anything about so let doctors try
I know its a big op but hope it can cure us -
and yes I think sometimes jeez this is scary - but Ihave been organizing for when I come out - told my family what I want to happen - when they can visit etc
its a bit like looking forward to something - hoping it will be all good news after op
    best wishes xx

  • Thanks Flissy. Hope your op goes ok. Yes just thinking of getting Christmas sorted before the op as won’t feel like much after.

If the surgeon can get these beasties out I am prepared for the pain. I have my first grandchild born four months ago and I am determined she will know her Nanny. X
