Thyroid Cancer at 26.

Hi everyone, a few weeks ago I was diagnosed with Onlcytic Thyroid Cancer and have had my thyroid removed in two stages. I was just wondering if it is normal to be paranoid now. I mean I keep having to clear my throat and have terrible ear pain. The GP says this won’t have anything to do with the thyroidectomy and now I’m worried I may have throat cancer or something. Am I being paranoid or should I ring the ENT consultant or my oncologist?

Thanks

  • HI Soph,

Im sorry I dont have much experience with thyroid cancer but wanted to welcome you and give a little advice if I can. Im really sorry to hear about your diagnosis, it must have been a shock, I know mine was as I was a similar age. Eventhough the GP says its not anything to do with your cancer I would ring either your consultant or oncologist just to be safe, if even just for peace of mind. They will be able to give you a better answer I would have thought. Hope this helps.
