Hodgkin Lymphoma

Just been diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma. Just had my PET/CT scan & start 6cycles of ABVDchemotherapy later this week. I am very positive and ‘up for the fight ‘. What can I expect during the chemotherapy and any advice on how to prepare and get through this stage would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi

Be positive and believe that you will be fine i have it too and iam undergo the treatment i have abvd 6 cycles and 10 radiation cycle then my doc made a mistake that he stop the treatment thinking its done but after a year we found that its not and i started treatment again with 5 cycle with dhab and 3 cycle with beacopp after that i will have self bone marrow trasplant this month o advice u to ask your doc about bilogical drugs called lister instead of chemo doc here told me that now by 30% respond u can resume by biological treatment followings with selc transplant for not relapsing.

  • How did your first treatment go?  You have probably had two by now?  Hopefully the side effects are not too much. I recently had a 5 year check up, all clear, after ABVD and bone marrow transplant after small relapse.  There is light at the end of the tunnel!

  • I’ve had 2 sessions of abvd and surprisingly felt better than I thought. 1-2 days after each session I have 3 days of feeling I have a bad hangover(without the enjoyment of the night before). Thereafter I feel generally ok although tired.

Next session this week & have been told the post chemo after effects are cumulative so may get worse.

  • Hi I hope you are well now and finished treatment?  My husband has had 4 of 8 chemos, he has been so poorly with all treatments, he did suffe mouth thrush which is now under control.

Did you have radiotherapy after your chemo. He has stage 2.  It has been suggested be will have radiotherapy after.  If you did was it straight after the chemo finished?

    Thanks in advance
