I am glad your operation went well though the sensation you describe in your tongue must be a very strange one indeed and it must be very frustrating not to be able to talk or eat properly at the moment but I hope the meds will help ease the pain.

I hope you don't mind but I have added the words 'tongue cancer' in your title. This will help others  who have had an operation for tongue cancer see your post more easily. I also have earache when I swallow. I had my op on 8th Aug and today the charred look has gone and been replaced by a yellow covering. I am having difficulty eating solids but I crumble a slice of bread in cream of tomato soup and I can eat that. I am going to try a soft boiled egg ans buttered bread for lunch today. I had porridge for breakfast. My husband has optimisticly made cottage pie for tonight . Not so sure I can manage that. The very best of luck to you for your biopsy result and for the future.
