I can't think straight

I am so scared, as I have been told me mole was melanoma and I have to have tests to see if it's spread............ I'm going out of mind, all I can think of is inevitable.

  • Hi Jennabel,

my husband was recently diagnosed with a melanoma, I assume you have had a biopsy on the mole.

the next stage for him was what is called a wide incision, with a little more being removed from around the origanal site where the mole was. My husband also had lymph nodes removed from nearest site to confirm if the cells have spread, that was three weeks ago, his wounds have healed well. We are waiting for the results.

I know how terrifying it is when you here the C word. I find researching all the facts from sites like these and Mc Millan very helpful and helps you to understand the treatments. I find all the waiting is the WORST part.

  • Thank you for the information, yes I had a biopsy on the mole which confirmed Melanoma. The dermatologist told me exactly what you have said but it's the not knowing and waiting that is driving me mad. I am imagining its spread everywhere.  I spoke with my brother last night who had just had a couple of ops to remove C and he tells me to be positive............ but how do you do this...........?  How is your husband coping with it?
