I'm sorry you've been diagnosed with stage 1 melanoma but it's great it's been found early so treatment can take place.

I know you're a bit nervous about the excision you're going to be having so I just wanted to share some information we have about this procedure on our website. Hopefully others who have been in this position will reply soon to share their experiences with you but it may be a good idea to get in touch with your GP or medical team if you're wanting to find out how much time you may need to take off work to recover.

I hope you don't have to wait too long to see the surgeon Jeani and that the excision goes well when the time comes.

You will feel quite limited and sore to start with but make sure you do the exercises they may give you and you will be fine - had mine under my left armpit and have to admit the scar was a lot bigger than I thought!
