family history of cancer in bladder / breast /bowel and lung
I'm a 52yr old female with 5 grown up daughters and had an hysterectomy 18 yrs ago.
Really don't know where to begin.
Started to feel ill around summer 2017.
Fatigue is an understatement although I'd always been fit and well.
Dr diagnosed me as depressed!
4 weeks later was back at GP with PV bleeding and clots, backache nausea bloating loss of weight and appetite and indigestion type pain in middle of chest. Was sent to A&E n spent day n night there having numourous tests and a scan. Was told I had 3 issues probably going on. Liver kidneys n bladder.
was booked in for cystoscopy a week later. They found a 2cm "cyst" in bladder but no sign of bleeding. Sent for blood tests again as enzyme levels were high. Then sent me for abdominal scan n colonoscopy.
Had reaction to contrast material n was really ill.
Colonoscopy was clear but scan showed 2cm "cyst" on liver and 1cm polyp on gallbladder.
Surgery was suggested for bladder cyst to be done as urgent (within 6 wks).
liver and gallbladder was to be a watch and wait situation.
bladder surgery date was 16 weeks later then cancelled. On week 25 and was told to have a chest ct then 3 days later letter for respiratory clinic arrived. I was confused and didn't know wether I was coming or going.
CT showed an area of atelectasis and nodule within on upper right lung. Was given option for a re-scan In august or pet scan - which would highlight wether anything is "hot" - (malignant).
results were likely to take a week then they would be discussed in the MDT meeting and I was due to go see my consultant today. However, he phoned me last Tuesday to go see him last Wednesday. The growth in my lung is "hot" but due to its position it is too dangerous to biopsy so they have said I will be sent an appointment to see the surgeon to discuss surgery options and then be given a date for the operation.
im absolutely terrified. I was not expecting it.
I have my appointment on Monday 16th July and could be admitted following week for my top right lobe removing.
My consultant has stated that although the pet scan showed the lung mass to be hot it may not turn out to be malignant and may require no further treatment. The other issues didn't show up "hot " so that's good news.
so now awaiting my fate at the hands of the surgeon and I'm stressing out and struggling to sleep.
today I receive a call from urology to say that my bladder surgery will be going ahead after my lung surgery and they are taking my gallbladder out too and talking about the possibility of surgery being done all at the same time???
Is this not too much at once/possible?
as anyone else had similar experiences and what was the outcomes?
Im sure I will find out everything on Monday but it's driving me mad - I'm a nervous wreck!
