I had a total hysterectomy, tubes, ovaries out in Feb due to grade 1 endometrial cancer, so have some idea what you're coping with. 

Not sure what you mean by very fluffy I'm afraid. When you say everyone says what can go wrong, is it literally everyone, or medical folk/nurses? Medics need to make patients aware of possible outcomes but they wouldn't be sending you for the op if they thought it would turn out badly. Maybe you could challenge them with why they aren't being more reassuring. If it's other people, I'd say actually I prefer positivity if you don't mind, or change the subject.

I wasn't offered any alternatives to my op, I actually found that helpful as I knew I had to "go for it." Hope you find a way to relax a little soon.

Sorry by fluffly I mean very overweight.  I do appreciate that the need to tell us about what can go wrong but at a time like this we also need reassurance.  I know that my anxiety is making me hang on to the negatives.  My family are amazing and keep trying to reassure me that everything is going to be OK.  I guess until I have had the op and get through, things wont really settle down.
