Cervical Cancer Stage 2

Hello, I've had an Utrasound, CT Scan and yesterday I had a PET Scan.  I thought I was going to have an MRI scan before meeting with my consultant but an appointment has been made to see him this Thursday.  Does that mean that they got enough info from the PET Scan and now I can start the course of Radiotherapy?  Also can anyone generally let me know how many weeks I will have to do generally.  Many thanks

    Hi NicciG,

    Of course everyone's situation is dfferent, but I had stage 2A cervical cancer and I had approx 26 external radiation treatements and 6 internal treatments following that.  I went every day for the external, then once a week for 6 weeks for the internal.  I also had 5 chemo treatments.  It seems like the treatments started in November and I finished up sometime in February (due to Holidays and also some sickness on my part).  I hope all goes well for you - the treatment is tough but do-able.
