  • Hello Sam1305,

Welcome to Cancer Chat though I am sorry to hear your brother has been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. I hope his chemotherapy treatment is going well. I hope you will meet others here who are facing a similar situation.

We have some detailed information on our site on bowel cancer which you may find helpful and it may answer some of the questions that are currently in your mind about what to expect. Our nurses are also available on this free number 0808 800 4040 if you live in the UK so don't hesitate to give them a call and talk things through with them. Their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I can imagine it is a shock for you if the first doctor told you it was nothing to worry about - you did really well to ask for a second opinion!

I will now let our other members say hello and share their bowel cancer experience with you.

    Best wishes,
