Mum had recent diagnosis

My mum recently found a lump in her breast with pain. She attended breast clinic and had mammogram ultrasound and biopsy. When we went to see the doctor they have told her it is “cancer”however we have to return next week for biopsy results. Is this something they can confirm prior to biopsy result and what will happen next? I am wanting to be prepared for what will happen at the appointment to allow me to support my mum

thank you for your assistance/advice

  • Hi there ... just being there holding her hand will help her more then you'll know .. those first early days are really scary .. it's like the world you knew has turned over and you think life will never be the same .. and waiting for things to happen is a little overwhelming. . Now I'm 10 months post mastectomy... and honestly the op wasn't half as bad as I'd thought .. and there's lots of us breast ladies on here ..

Wer all still here ... all different stages , different treatments, but we hold each other up, when we feel low, and high 5 when wer o.k ... there is life after breast cancer ... mine was a grade 3 ... and I'm here writing to you ... l was a lot better once I let the feelings out, and said I was ready to put a pair of boxing gloves on ... get in the ring and trade blow for blow ..

The one thing us on here all have in common is wer kicking cancers butt right down the road ... it's not about winning or loosing ... it's about not letting it change who we are .. it's about lots of us in that boxing ring doing the best we can .. you will have loads of feelings, go with them, they are part of this journey.. go with your mum to her appointment and take a pen and paper... write down what you both want to ask.. and write down what's said to you ... it went right over my head ... my daughters in law did that for me ... it's a hard road but it is doable ... together ... don't be worried to both admit your scared ..share tears, and hugs ...

But let's hope it's better news then you thought ... but be prepared too ... Chrissie x
